The number of pregnant teens in Florida is lower than other southern states. The state has a teen birth rate of 18.2 per thousand, while Alabama has a rate of 27.0 and Georgia has a rate of 21.9. Despite the relatively low rate in Florida, pregnant teens in our state have many options available to them. One of these is to place the baby for adoption.
One question that many expectant parents have when they are choosing to place their baby for adoption is how they will know the child will be placed in a loved home. Birth parents can play a primary role in choosing the adoptive family their baby will grow up in.
